why directors do not act in their movies?

if the director know so much about the role ,then why dont they act in the movie instead of spending money on actors i think they want someone to blame if the movie is flop

Have you seen M. Night Shyamalan in his own movies. He has to appear in at least one scene in all his movies. And it's horrible. He should just leave the acting to actors.

Well some directors do act in their movies like M. Night Shyamalan and Alfred Hitchcock. Shyamalan even plays one of the main roles in his movie Lady in the Water lt's a matter of personal choice. A lot of directors are not good actors really.

I think the directors want to express their creativity in their movies. To do that, they have to be behind the camera and the best scenes for the film. Filmmaking and acting are two different disciplines. They may be related but they are not the same.
