Hello Myloters, Please share with me your experience on Taxis when we travel. Here in Philippines Taxi drivers are really bad. Every time i come back here I always get into fight with taxi drivers. When you give theme money that require change they always give you short change and you know when they do that they look at you like there the one who got rip off. So rude people so when your in Philippines make sure that you always have coins and small change when you use taxi. I spoke to some of the people I know who actually dont use taxi and they said to me that its fine because they have difficult job but my reason is the money that they took from me without service, I worked so hard to find that too, so everyone should play fair game. What do say? Do you get this kind of treatment too and what do you think of it? Thanks Myloters and happy Myloting.

This is the time that I am ashamed to say that I am a Filipino. Unfortunately, what Eve was saying is very correct. I know that there should be no excuse for this and I don't know why this keeps on happening not only to foreigners but also to us Filipinos as well. Every once in a while is okay especially if they really don't have spare change. If the driver was sincerely apologetic for what had happened, then fine. But, like what Eve had stated, some will look at you to see what the passenger reaction will be when the driver pretend not to have any change. Sadly, I myself only ride taxis only on extreme situation like being late for work or appointments. Before riding it, I make sure that I bring change or smaller bills and get off immediately at my destination.

we went to manila last time and we made it to the point to have change. (one, five and 10 pesos). taxi drivers there were so wise. they keep on making rounds before they drop you to your destination. and take note, they choose passengers. i don't understand them. they ask you with big fare and the destination is just around the 2nd block. one time, they asked 100 pesos for a short ride. i can't believe them. we had no choice but to hop on that taxi because everybody is waiting. they don't use the price meter, they choose passengers and the price. but here in davao city, you get to choose your taxi and pay the metered price.
