Meditation

February 23, 2010 2:30pm CST
I am finding it really difficult to relax lately, and trying to get a decent night's sleep has become almost impossible. I have heard that meditation can be a good way to help me wind down after a hectic day, but I've never done anything like it before. Does anyone know any meditation techniques that will help me get rid of my 'mental chatter' so I can feel relaxed both inside and out?

Hi there, I have been meditating for quite a while now. It really helps me to relax my body and keep me alert at all times. One technique that I use to keep my mind in peace is to keep track/focus of your breathing. It will take a while to get used to this and to eliminate the inner thoughts. Just focus on your breathing (in and out) and relax your mind and eventually your mind will be free from any thoughts. Some soothing music also helps (but not everyone is the same, it depends on individuals). Hope that helps. Cheers.

Yes, thank you that does help. I will try the technique and let you know how I get on. Thanks for taking the time to post your response :)

I have the same problem. I hope I will be able to help you with this one but I too need help about it. I have so many things contained in my mind right now and its making me feel down and desperate. I think it is not healthy for me but I am going to find a way to get rid of all the things in my mind. I always worry you see. I hope I will be able to sleep well tonight. I hope you will too.
