I have worn glasses for about ten years. Recently I am thinking about contact lenses. Because I feel it brings me a lot of inconvenience wearing my current glasses. But someone tole me that it is harmful for my eyes if I wear contact lenses. Is this true?

Well, I think the glasses is better if you want to maintain a good condition of your eyes. Because the contact lenses is too close to your eyes and it is not possible to avoid chafe between the lenses and your eyes. You know, our eyes is one of the most weak part in our body, any slightly scathe may cause big problem. But wear contact lenses probably will make you much more good looking. However, I prefer healthy than beautiful.

Yeah, me too, I prefer healthy than beautiful, so that is the reason why I never wear contact lenses. But still, I want to have a pair of contact lenses some time. Because if I want to go to swim and I do not have contact lenses, I cannot see the things around me very clearly.

There are some bands of swimming glasses have degree in their products. My swim glass is one of them. Although I have myopia, I can still see very clearly under the water with my swim glasses.

I have a friend of mine who wear contact lenses. But she left them because she found them harmful for her eyes. She said she always had tears in her eyes. So maybe they can be harmful. But I'm not sure. Better ask a doctor about this. Doctors know better!

She could try a different brand of contact lenses. Your friend might get on better with daily disposal contact lenses.

I had glasses at the age of ten and then got contact lenses when I was twenty one years old. I am really happy that I decided to go for contact lenses. It is like having perfect eyesight and a view all around. I had two week and then monthly disposable contact lenses at first. Then I went for daily disposable contact lenses. There is no need for cleaning them and it is super healthy. I wear a new pair every day. The contact lenses keep my eyes moist and are very comfortable to wear. I don't think contact lenses harm the eyes but hygiene is very important. I remember the days of having normal glasses and prescription sunglasses. Well, it is so much easier with contact lenses. Good luck if you do decide to get contact lenses. I got mine and then had them in for 2 hours, then 4 hours, then 6 hours, then 8 hours until my eyes were used to them.

Hi. colydf. I don't think that this is so true. I think that as long as a person is wearing them the correct way, then they are fine. If the contact lenses is worn incorrectly it may could cause problems.

It depends on how long you're gonna use it. If you will sleep with them then the tendency is that you will have an irritation in your eyes the following day. Its okay to wear them as long as you are also gonna be cautious enough in doing so.

Hi Friend, Recently i heard one sad thing about lens. Just wanted to make you too aware of it. Its true incident... A 21 years guy, who usually wear contact lens, at a party, he went near fire charcoal. After a few sec, he shouted for help. when he arrived at the hospital, the doctor daid he'll be blind permanently. Because, contact lenses are made by plastics & the heat from the charcoal melted his cintact lenses. This incident happened truly for my friend's friend. So please wear contact lenses where overheating and flames are concerned.

Hmmm, I don't think it's true. Some even say that contact lenses can make your eyegrade go lower because it's closer to the eyes than glasses. I think it will only be harmful if you don't put it on properly, like if your contacts or hands aren't properly washed, or you wear expired contact lenses or use expired contact lens solution, or use improperly graded lenses. It will also hurt your eyes if you sleep with them on, especially if you don't use extended ones.

There is no harm to your eyes that I am aware of. Did this person say exactly what harm they could cause to your eyes? I've been wearing contacts for 16 years now. Way better than glasses. You don't have to worry about them constantly slipping off your face, the guards digging into your nose, the frames breaking, and lenses falling out. Your field of vision is much better with no frames to block your view. I wear disposables. They're very light, you can't even tell you're wearing anything.

Most optometrists recommend contact lens than eye glasses because it has less discomfort and more dense. But there are warnings attached: users should be cautious because contact lenses should not suppose to wear when sleeping as it partly damaged the cornea in the long run, so you should try to be careful when deciding to wear contact lens.

it was a lie, my friend ... using the contact lenses same as using spectacles, however, indeed there are many facts that say there is an allergic reaction when using contact lenses. On the soft lens users, allergies can be caused by material or component maintenance fluids.

You should go to a reliable optical center to find the safest contact lenses. There are some contact lenses which are not made with safety measures. Also, taking care of your CL would greatly matter.
