I love sour soup or sinigang. I love putting eggplant, radish, string beans and some pechay leaves. Do you love sinigang? What kind is your favorite and what do you put in it?

I love sinigang! Though I admit, I never loved it as much as before. But know I don't know why I just love it so much. It's just really delicious, and Kangkong and gabi is enough for me for my sinigang. The best sinigang for me is pork, then milkfish. I just love it, and my mouth is watering now.. LOL.

I love sinigang too any kind of sinigang like Bangus, shrimp, pork or beef but I never tried chicken. At home our mother always put kangkong, raddish, gabi, sitaw or eggplant in our sinigang but other people don't put many vegetables on it. We also put petchay in our sinigang but we always put kangkong because here the kangkong is clean it is comes from the rice fields unlike in the city.

This is my favorite, and I always crave for this. I like to eat the fat part of the meat, yummy! I love my sinigang when there's eggplant, radish and the kangkong leaves.

I like the fat part too. My husband doesn't like the fat part but I consider myself lucky because he has to give it to me and I usually have a big smile on my face. Kangkong leaves are suppose to be the best for sinigang but my husband doesn't like them so I use pechay.

Hi p3ks, Sinigang is my kids' (10 and 7 yrs old) favorite dish. We can have it for three days straight and they won't complain. I use either pork ribs or pork belly, I don't want lean meat without bone or fat. I don't put any veggies in it except for string beans (sitaw) because no one in my family eats the other veggies except string beans. My kids don't want to see any other stuff in their sinigang except pork, string beans and tomato.

Its good to hear your kids love sinigang. Most kids dont and its healthy they eat string beans (sitaw). I think ribs and other parts with bones are the best to make sinigang. Now I feel like I am going to make sinigang later. Have you tried making sinigang with prawns?

Wow! Sinigang is my favorite dish! I can't resist to eat the dish. I love veggies also. I love radish, pechay leaves and kangkong leaves. In fact, we use kangkong leaves a substitute for pechay leaves. I am not much into a ready to cook soup. I think it too many preservatives. Cooking a fresh soup tastes better.

Fresh really taste better. I also think that using the real tamarind instead of the of the ready "mix" one is better. My dad also tried using other things to make the sour soup like santol, or green mangoes, or calamansi but nothing beats the sour taste in the tamarind.

oh yes indeed. I totally dig the sinigang. Either with pork or fish, as long as there's kangkong, it's a heavenly dish for me.

Good description for sinigang, I should remember that it is a heavenly dish and love the person who invented or discovered it. Kangkong is the best for it but my husband doesn't like it so I have to use pechay. Its a good substitute for kangkong too.
