I used to work in field of social services for a few years.I remembered I once have ajob to work with the developmentally handicapped people,it was quite a good experinece for my life. Why? Because it taught me patience and humbleness .To work with these people with special needs, you really need a heart to serve themand help them with encouragement .So that they will start to progress slowly. And beside this reward.I have learned some sign language as well.It was fun to use sign language to commmunicate with others but right now,I forgot most of them already ^_^.Well,if you have experience in working with the special group, share with us!

I have worked with people with special needs in the past. Some years ago I worked in a home for mentally disabled adults. In addition to their mental disabilities the residents were blind or deaf-blind. That job was a challenge for me. I had worked with adults for mental disabilities before, but I had no experiencec with people who were blind or deaf-blind. I had to learn tactile sign language in order to communicate with the residents. My co-workers taught me some of the most common signs and I also bought a dictionary in order to learn more signs. In the beginning it was difficult for me help the residents because my knowledge of sign language was very limited, but after a while it got much easier. I still remember a few of the signs, but I haven't used them since I worked there, so I have forgotten many of them.
