bored with life!

I don't know if that's what I am feeling, but it's a very glumy feeling... Have any of you just been tired of the same 'ol same 'ol everyday? Seems nothing exciting ever happens, you go through the same routine day in and day out. I think part of it could be because I am tired of winter and ready to be able to go outside without freezing. But then part of it is I just want something to be so excited about, have something to look forward to and there is nothing. Have you ever just been bored with life? What are things I could do to get over this glummy feeling? I wonder if it's because I want to do more with life but I don't think I quite figured out what I want to do. I don't know, I don't know.....

getting bored with life is possible, if u r normally invovled in routine, not doing any challanging things, or not involved in any hobby. To break routine is important to fight the boredom. Try spending time on your hobby, m sure, that will help.

Ha ha ha. Look at that. What a coincidence! This is what I've feeling for two days now. I tried to cheer myself until this lunch I didn't eat so I could feel change in my routine. It worked though, I didn't eat anything for 12 hours, just drank something. Well it was accompanied by being busy too. he he he. My love was around so I don't feel so gloomy. You have a point there, maybe we felt it because winter is too long. I don't know what to suggest to you, it will just pass I guess! Good luck!

Life is boring. Period. Period. Period. Thank god we have the internet now. I can't imagine how people passed time a century but now we have movies, dramas, musics and bored.com Those things get old too. There would be movies that's watched too many times and music heard too often. That's why I consider it a productive day if I find a good movie or a nice song. On the other hand, not being bored in the 3 dimension world....can't help you there.

Oh yes, I have passed a lot of time on the internet lately!! But sadly I do get bored of that as well run out of things to do or look for. Im not much of a tv watcher so yes actually sitting down and watching a good movie would be very relaxing but I don't do it that often because of the reasons you mentioned. Guess it would be a change in what I do though so it might help. Thanks

I think this time of year gets everybody feeling gloomy, especially when its a cloudy dreary day, I get those days too. I just try to get out of the house for a little bit, even if its just to go for a walk, walk down to the mailbox, some days I'll go to town and eat lunch with my hubby on his lunch break, that always makes me feel better. I know I can't wait for spring to get here, I'm tired of all this cold weather and gloomy days. Make some plans to spend an afternoon with a friend or a family member, go do some shopping, even window shopping is fun, at least one day a week, get out of house. I hope you get to feeling better, it'll be spring time before you know it and we'll be able to get outside more often.

Thats how it is with us, we live in a small town, not a lot of places to shop but walmart, and its about a 35 min drive to the next biggest city that has a mall and places to shop. We go there about every couple weeks or so, they have lots of good places to eat, and that's our treat to ourselves. I'm glad it made you feel better and that you had a good time, I hope it keeps getting better for you...

I took your advice and told my man we were going shopping. Live in small town so had to drive about an hour to get to bigger city to go to a mall. It was a very enjoyable day and we all had lots of fun. I think it did make me feel much better! I wasn't something we normally go do. Each day I am trying to find something, some days more successful than others but it is helping! Thanks!

When I feel blue and glummy, I find that going out to get fresh air is the best remedy ever. I get on my bike or just put on my running shoes, I go out in the afternoon and only come back at night. It's just the best sensation to have wind in your face and to sweat out all of your problems. If it's raining, I'll stay at home and just play my guitar and let it's sweet sound ease out any pain I have in my soul. Ever tried playing in instrument?

I wish I could put on my running shoes and go but it is about 7 degrees out right now and I hate the cold! Im tired of the cold. I can't wait till I can start going outside again and enjoy the fresh air. I have never tried an instrument but I have always wanted to learn how to play the piano.

I do understand this feeling though we do not have long winters as I am from India but being a housewife I really do not have much to do during the day so whenever I feel quite bored I try to do the things which I would not usually do like look a large meal or maybe read a book or rearrange my wardrobe or maybe clean the house. You really would be astonished as to how much time runs off doing these works and then your mind is diverted also. I really hope my suggestion helps.

I only get frustrated when I clean the house. we have six kids that are very sloppy and don't pick up after themselves. Some are small so I don't expect them to, but I think the older ones should help and they don't. So when I clean the house I don't feel anyone even appreciates what I do! I feel good about it when I am done but then the kids get home from school and the second they come in they start throwing their stuff all over! Then they get toys out and leave them out even when their done playing with them and within an hour you can't even tell I cleaned the house! Usually I would rearrange furniture and make the rooms look different that always made me feel better, but back in october we moved to a house way to small for us all but it was all we could afford so rearranging isn't even an option there is no room for anything except for the way it is.

That is really horrible. Why don't you put on some comedy movie and have a nice laugh maybe that would relieve you.

I think most (if not all) people get like this at some point. Even those who appear tio have very exciting lives because to them it becomes routine just like the things we do. I think the trick is to be grateful for what you do have. Not having much to look forward to is tame in comparison with other problems. I sometimes find as well that life can turnaround very quickly and something will happen that you did not expect. You also have to make things happen yourself sometimes. Dont just sit around and wait :)

I think everybody sort of gets to feeling like that this time of the year. We have been in all the bad weather & it is so cold still here that u don't even want to get out. I bet everybody is ready for warm weather & i'm looking for buttercups. They always make me think the weather is going to be better.HOPE u feel better.

when ever I feel like that I go and do something totally silly, like go shopping in the rain in shorts and flip flops, I think we can all be too serious in life and thats what gets us down. Try and do something totally wacko make a fool of yourself it always works for me and turns life into something other than routine when you do something totally off the cuff try it and see always works for me,

I know what you mean, and it sucks I often get bored with the same old routine, with living a mundane life, always wanting more excitement and enjoyment out of my life. I hate that feeling where it just seems like you are plodding from one day to the next without doing anything amazing with your time

I go through something similar, but instead of being bored, I just get frustrated and somewhat depressed about where I currently am in my life and with what I have achieved. I want so much and I am usually limited by the amount of free time I have to devote to getting more out of life, which usually leaves me being more frustrated with myself because I haven't achieved what I want. The feeling comes and goes and some days are worse than others, but I guess it will always be there until I finally achieve my dream.

I wish you luck with your dreams. Sadly I don't go through with half of what I want to because it seems when I start something I get stuck and then end up not finishing. so now I just have a lack of confindence for myself. I don't start anything assuming I am not going to finish it. Sometimes it's the lack of resourses as well.

I think as some point we all feel like this and the possibilites are endless as to what we can do to "cheer" up. Some are simple and easier said than done - do something, talk to sometone, join a group, make new friends, try new things, read a book, etc. etc. etc. The truth is, and I know this from extensive personal experiece, is that these think are easier said than done, and theres alwys those little voices in our head that tell us these things wont help anyway. I have found that these things help us when we are feeling a little more open to then in the first place. Giving self praise, seeing all the things that are valuable in life, and enjoying then, even if from afar, has helped me a lot. The smallest acts of the universe can be so empowering if we only can open our eyes to them. Seeing Small things at first that you may not have noticed before can be more important than you would think. I try to notice everyhing that is undeniable special in this life, it makes me feel like things are not so mundane.
