Does anyone know how long dental implants crowns last?

I know the implant lasts forever basically. Has anyone had the experience of the crown deteriorating? My friend has had crowns and they are still intact years later. The implants are a different story. They have to put another crown because it started deteriorating or falling apart. Quite expensive. Is this normal? Every couple of years you must change your crowns that cover your metal posts? He was not told that but then again he wants teeth at all cost. Curious if anyone has gone through or works for a dentist. Thanks

theres two kinds of crown implants, its temporary and permanent, temporary is less expensive but only last for few months nor a year. while permanent is good up to many years it depends if its already deteriorate but takes many years before it happened. though i dont think theres a lifetime for that maybe there is but it will not look good already but of course its more expensive.
