Isn't it annoying when someone spoils a book you are reading by revealing too much information about characters, plot or the ending? I purposely try not to discuss books I am reading with certain people present. ;) How do you feel about this issue? :)

Oh definitely, that is something that bugs me. A person puts time into reading something for enjoyment and then someone else just decides to pop the proverbial balloon. I also hate it when people do that with a TV show. It is so easy to read spoilers for books, TV, and movies these days. So the last thing I need is for a regular person to spoil it for me.

I agree! It's so annoying and it totally ruins the thrill of reading the book on your own. w

That is a very interesting story about what you did as a child, and how you stopped doing it, after the same was done to you! :)

I actually like spoilers a lot, but I do try to stop someone from telling me the whole story before they do it. I tell them "I don't want to hear the whole thing as I might want to read it". I know a lot of people who go on and on about a book or movie and end up telling me too much. But, a little bit here and there about the story, I don't mind.

It is when I am in the midst of reading a book that I strongly dislike people mentioning how the book ends, etc. :)

This happened to me recently. Someone opened her mouth and told me the whole ending of the story. I had been reading these books for a long time and was enjoying going through them at my own pace. I do have the final book now, but I see no point in reading it as I already know what happens. It is a fantastic ending and it's all ruined now.... I don't think I have ever been so annoyed!

My sister and I love to read books. She's always the first one who would read the book and recommend it to me. I love all the genres of books she read. There was one time when I finished reading all 4 books of Twilight and I always joke around her that I am going to spoil it for her. She hated me for that and she was really annoyed. I didnt actually told her the story. I just told her other stories jut to annoy her and yeah, I was successful in my purpose of annoying her. She wanted to kill me at that time.
