I'm starting to hate him!

Ok, i have a colleague who was fine and jolly at first. Later on, he started complaining about this and that in the office (dunno why)..from people, to workload, everything.. He talks to me with a lot of rantings (we're from different country by the way). Since people are a aloof to him now, I'm afraid people will start to avoid me too. I kind of starting to hate him because of his rantings and complaints...I'm fed up.
