Tea Party Anyone?!?

My 3 year old daughter LOVES tea parties. Ever since she got her first tea set she has wanted to take it every where, plays with it all the time, wants to have friends over for "tea parties" and every thing else that goes with having a tea set. When she wants to play tea party with her dolls we fill up her tea pot with water and give her some sugar cookies to "feed" her dolls. She loves it and could play for hours! When she has friends over we let her have real tea in her pot but of course we make sure its warm to cool in temperature. Recently she has been asking for hot coco in her tea pot. When she’s all done playing we do the dishes together. It's a great way to teach her chores in a fun way. I think that for her 4th birthday I am going to have a big tea party. I was thinking that I'd buy her a real tea set unlike the 3 plastic sets she has now. It would be a really cute and easy theme. I was thinking that I'd ask every one to dress up to. Make it a really nice classy and elegant tea party for little girls. I know my daughter would enjoy it a lot! So do your girls play tea party? Have you ever had the joy of being at a kid’s tea party? Tell me about your tea party experiences!

I loved tea parties when I was a kid.. and I tried so hard to teach my daughter to play tea time like I loved it at her age (well.... when she was a kid.. she is a teen now)! Of course, you know, as fate would have it.. my daughter wanted nothing to do with it! that would have been too awesome! lol! I love your birthday party theme idea.. I would have been in tea party heaven if I had had one of those when I was a kid! Good luck with the party and please post some pictures!

We have a ways to go for her Birthday (December) and as you see on f/b I post lots of pics all the time! Sorry your daughter wasn't into it. My little one would invite you over in a heart beat if you said you liked tea parties! She has tea parties with grandma (who lives up north) over the phone!

What a cool idea! I bet she would love that. And as far as birthday party ideas go, yours is definitely an original. I don't remember if I played tea party when I was a little kid. I know my mom has this kind of antique tea set that she played with when she was a little girl. But if it was worth something, I don't know that she let us play with it. We should have invested in a plastic one!

Luann has about 3 or 4 plastic tea sets! The vary by color and size. We have the small set which is great for going to grandmas house because all the cups, sauces, and spoons fit in the tea pot. Then we have the large set that stays home. Anyway we were in Orlando recently and found a great Alice in wonderland tea pot. I'm pretty sure I am going to get it for the party. (I'll be back there in June) So far I bought little white woven purses, hats, boas, pearl necklaces and a few other party favor things. I'm way to excited over this can you tell!?!

My youngest grandaughter(4) is all girlie and whenever she comes over we have to have a TeaParty. I went to Toy stores and bought the ceramic mini ones where she could pour out the water but accidently dropped it and was so hurt that she broke it, so now i'm going to look for a plastic set. With Alice in Wonderland starting this Friday at the movies I'm sure they will have Tea Sets soon. My girls and my older grandaughters never did tea parties so this is a treat for me too! Good Luck and have fun!

I found a great tea set at toys r us for about 17 bucks. It has every thing from the cups to the forks and plates. It's pink and purple. That one is my daughters favorite. We also found a small set at dollar general for 3 bucks. I like that set because every thing fits in the tea pot. Disney stores have a really cute tinkerbell one that every thing fits in the tea pot too. It's really pretty. My daughter has plastic ones. One mini ceramic set that only comes out on special occasions.

Your daughter sounds so cute! My little girl loved tea parties too and one birthday we threw a party that sounds very similar to the one you're planning. All the little girls dressed up in their pretty dresses and the boys in their smart trousers, shirts and ties. They poured juice from teapots into their cups, had dinky little triangular sandwiches and delicious little cup cakes arranged on tiered plates. We sent all the children home with goody bags full of tiny little cakes - their parents loved that too! All the children loved it - even the boys. Astonishingly, what they really loved was the pouring of the "tea" into their cups. And it was a strange thing - with such a "refined" event going on, all of them behaved impeccably!

I'm way to excited about this party! I rented a gazibo at a local park. ($25 for the full day) The gazibo is actually for weddings. Its a tall white octogan shape white gazibo. I LOVE it! There are gardens all around it with flowers like crazy! I hired a photographer too! We are only having girls at this party. I'm keeping it very small only inviting 5 girls. Party favors! I was in Orlando recently and found the cutest pearl necklace, bracelte, earings sets. I have also bought white woven purses to put every thing in. I still need to get the boas and white gloves. Decorations! I found some great silk flowers at a yard sale. Only spent $8 bucks and have MORE then enough flowers for the tables and gazibos.

I remember when I was growing up, my little sister loved tea parties with dolls and such and she would always dress up. One time, my mother did the same thing you're thinking of...she threw a big tea-party for my lil sister and all of her friends. I was about 9 years old and was the older sister so I was the host and I got to dress up too. I was really a lot of fun.

I was so scared to have a girl because of all the girly things but now I am so happy I have a girl to do girly stuff with! Maybe we will have a boy some day and I can do the boy stuff too. When you do get your tea party cherish it. We have so much fun giggling and talking about nothing. Memories that will last a life time.

My daughters Birthday is coming up, I have to find a way to talk to her and somehow spend some time with her... I have to find a way around the wall the blockage created by the authorities that have devastated my existence. I know I can get around the blocks... I just wish it was easier. It would be great to hear a good musician while sipping some tea... and talking silly... I remember when...

A tea party is a wonderful experience for every child. I know its kind of an obsolete game for kids considering the availability of highly technological gadgets but it would still be beautiful if little girls could experience tea parties. I think its a beautiful idea to have a tea party theme and yes, Alice in the Wonderland theme would make it a more interesting addition to your tea party as suggested by the other respondent. I moderate a club for little girls and I have been planning of making them go through a tea party since I know it is rarely done these days. I was hoping to get them to experience the tea parties I've enjoyed when I was a little girl. I hope I can push through with this plan.

i dont have any kids but i did go to a tea type party when i was a pre-teen. the family was really into old fashioned stuff so we had tea, all those little cake things i cannot remember the name of then ice cream afterwards.. it was fun.. i think everyone in that age range would love it (but im really kid stupid.. i know nothing about kids lol so im guessing) but you may want to not let her use the real tea set at the party in case her friends accidentally break part of it etc.. heck im 28 and still clumsy and was afraid i would be afraid to use one now!

I don't know what we will use I really want to use the "good" tea set but like you said dont want anything broken. Maybe I could find a set at goodwill. Even if not matching it would be cute and I wouldn't have to worry about if they break!

i don't have kids but I was once a child and I do like your idea of a tea party... hmmm what about making it a timely event? what I mean is maybe you can incorporate a theme into your tea party like for example Alice in the wonderland? just a suggestion though ... you can decorate your garden like that in Alice's tea party.

Alice in wonderland Tea party would be adorable!!! Her birthday isn't till December but I like to be prepaired. I love the idea of having it in a garden! Maybe I'll talk to the Historical place that has rose gardens and see if I could do it there! Wow you have my mind going now! Thank you!!!

I have two girls, one is almost eight, and the other almost two. Every Saturday we have a 'picnic party' in my eldest daughters bedroom. We lay down a rug, put down some scatter cushions, put out the plastic tea set filled with apple juice and put nibbles on plates. All the dolls and teddies come along and we just chat and play party games afterwards. When we are all tired (especially me) we lay down on the bed and put on a DVD for some rest time. I think your idea of a real tea party for your daughters 4th birthday will go down really well. I can just imagine all the little girls dressed up pretty and enjoying tea, it would be wonderful!

I am even more excited about her tea party birthday then ever. I spoke with my aunt about it and she is letting us use all her victorian style table linens along with the tea set. All I have to find is the tea pot! I'm sure your girls enjoy the tea party with mom time you give them. I love having tea parties!
