How many times have you read the 'for rent' ads and somewhere in there is the statement "no pets allowed". This really ticks me off. Our pets are our families, and I am sure that you aren't going to move in and let you cat or dog wreck the place. I think that landlords should make allowances and let you have that dog or cat that you have had for years. To some people giving up their pets is like giving up their kids! In fact, I have seen rentals where the damage was done by the human kids that were living there, not the 4 legged kind!

I know it's urgs me too......I can understand to a point why landlords do it but I feel it unfair to penalize someone who has a pet and fear they are going to allow the same thing....If damage had already been done in an apartment due to a previous renter I believe it that renters responsiblty to pay for the damage.

I agree with you more pets should be allowed to live in a house or apartment. I have a pit bull mix and I don't have to tell you how they are judged by people. Right now I am in a dog friendly neighborhood and they don't prejudge the breed. I see a lot of pits and all types of dogs. I know there are some sites on line that help find places that take all kinds of pets. I am going blank on the names of them. I am sure if you ask in one of the pet interests someone will know. It is harder finding a place and I have had many people tell me to just get rid of your dog. Bandit is 10 years old and my mom found her for me when she was 6 months old. My mom passed away six years ago and there is no way I would ever just give Bandit away. She is a very special dog.
