Agricultural policy describes a set of law relating to domestic agricultural and imports of foreign agricultural products. Government usually implement agricultural policy with the goal achieving a specific outcome in the domestic agricultural market product.

Agricultural Policy usually seeks with the policies to actualise the vast untapped growth potential of Indian agriculture, strengthen the rural infra structure , to support faster agricultureal growth of the agro business, create employment in rural area, to provide better living place to the farmers and there family,discourage migration to urban areas and to face the challenges arising out of economic liberization and globalisation
