Shopping the day before or the day after Thanksgiving?

A lot of stores in our area started a new trend last year by having late-night sales on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. I much prefer that than getting up before the crack of dawn on Black Friday. However, I will still spread out all the sale ads on Thanksgiving Day to see which stores have which items on sale.
