What do you guys know about owls. I had an encounter with one and I took time to observe it habits? This bird is considered to be a bad omen in my culture! I picked an owlet in my garden. The next day, 2 owls appeared with what seemed like food in their beaks. I put the owlet out and they came to feed it. The following day there was more than one owl in the trees at night.During the day an owl kept vigil in the trees. I assumed it was the mother owl. After 3 weeks the owl left at night. I have not seen it nor have i seen the other owls in my compound. What encounters have you had with owls? Are the considered to be a bad omen in your culture?

I don't think owls are bad omen.I think they even symbolize wisdom, that's why there are frequently used in movies like Harry Potter.I haven't seen an owl not in captivity, but I think they are majestic birds.probably mother owl was the one who kept vigil.she is looking out for her baby.I think that she is also grateful that her baby is safe.by the way, what happened to the baby owl?did s/he join her/his family?

No, they are not bad omen from where i came from. We consider owl as the intellegent one. Seeing one free, not in captivity is really a rare rare opportunity. Be blessed to see them. I am sure the little owl's relatives are thankful for you!
