My job requires me to be in front of a computer for 8 hours every workday. On top, of that I blog and try to earn money online so most of my time are spent in front of the computer. I can feel that my eyes are getting damaged, my vision is somewhat blurry now. If only I know ways how to take care of my eyes despite my computer usage. Can you guys, give some tips on how to take care of our eyes?

Here's how to avoid CVS (Computer Vision Syndrome): 1. Every 10 to 15 minutes, take an eye break. - Look into the distance and focus on an object for 20 to 30 seconds. - Roll your eyes in a complete circle. - Close your eyes and rest them for at least one minute. 2. Blink your eyes every five seconds. 3. Place your display device (your monitor) about an arm's length away from your eyes with the top of the screen at eye level or below. 4. Use large fonts. 5. If you wear eye glasses, ask your doctor about computer glasses. 6. Adjust the lighting. 7. Take vitamins for the eyes like natural food supplement "Lutein". It will help you fight off eye damage. Happy MyLotting! :)

I have a disease in my eye and its called keratoconus (not sure of the spelling). I am a software engineer by profession and a part time blogger. My two sources of income require me to stay long hours infront of the computer. I asked the doctor if computers were the cause of my disease. "They" said, no, staying infront of computer even all day doesn't affect your vision but it will make your eyes tired. You must try to rest your eyes once in a while to prevent tired eyes. What actually affects eyesight is lack of nutrition for the eyes.

Unless your monitor or refresh rate is messed up, there shoudn`t be a problem really... 85-100 HZ for older CRT monitors and 75 for LCD should be fine If you still having "problems" just take a quick break every hour or so, take a walk, open a window and breath fresh air etc. etc.
