question about my e-mail

Ok. I realize that most of you are probably younger and more computer knowledgable than I am so do not laugh at my question. But I was recently checking my e-mail and decided to look in my spam folder (which had about 1000). I discovered several e-mails there that I would want to receive. How do I get them off my spam list?
