heya, i usually spend about 150-200 per week on groceries for three of us. I am in australia though so the dollar is not the same. i was reading the other posts thinking, wow! until i realised that the dollar was different. 100 australian dollars is currently equal to about 130 american dollars. Also i have heard that australia has one of the highest costs of groceries.

just thought id add that we only really buy 'essentials' such as meat, veges, fruit, bread, cheese, toiletries etc. i do not but anything gourmet or things like that and i hardly ever buy processed foods which are more expensive.

I shop for one person. I try to get enough groceries for two weeks at a time for $40 dollars or less.

We have 3 people. If we just do regular groceries, it is about $300/month sometimes less. About $100 more if we go to the whole foods store.

This is very interesting. I am wondering whether those of you who are so economical at the grocery store eat out a lot--or do you have amazing secrets for doing things so economically. P.S. Are you all really skinny?
