How often do you use your DVR?

I've only had one for the past couple of years, and I absolutely love it. I think what I like the best is that I'm not tethered to the television...I don't have to be sitting down right at 8:00 to watch a show I like. It gives me more 'free' time, at least that is how I feel, knowing I'm not going to miss anything. I guess it's pretty sad when TV has become that integrated into our lives, huh? LOL I can hang with my kid and watch my shows after she goes to bed, for example. Plus it's great on those lazy days when nothing is on, I have lots of choices that I KNOW I'll like, right at my fingertips!

We have had the DVR for over five years, and I love it. It is easy to use, and I can watch programs at a time that is convenient for me, without the commercials. I have to say though, that a lot of the programs I like, can also be viewed online on the network websites, for free, with very little commercials. So if I could not afford the DVR, I would not feel lost without it.

I have noticed that online TV watching is becoming more popular, like Hulu, for example. I have yet to take the plunge! I guess I would if I had to give up my DVR, though.

I wish I still had mine. I loved it. My daughter was able to catch her nature programs that they put on at 3 am..at her convenience. But trying to lwer household bills, no more dvr!

I use mine too often. Lately I have to decide what to erase or allow to be erased because I don't have enough time to watch everything

I never use mine anymore. I just look at regular TV or movies.

I could not live without my DVR. Pausing live TV is the best plus I like being able to search for certain shows and movies and be able to hit one button to record them. I can't believe I used to record TV shows on a tape!

I wouldn't trade mine for anything..I rarely have to watch commercials and like you said it gives you the freedom to live your life and watch at our own convenience. I like the pause feature too, it allows me to give someone my undivided attention without missing a crucial part of the plot. And I love the rewind feature during hockey season, I can go to the re-play any time I want to. During the last snow storm when the cable went out we had the bonus of being able to still watch what we had stored, that was nice.

I've had a DVR for about 3 years and I, too, love it. I mostly love being able to zip through all the commercials. I dislike them so much... I hear you on not being tethered to the TV. I may not watch shows for a week or two after I've recorded them. On lazy days, I may watch 4 CSI's or 4 Cold Cases in a row.

I use my DVR all the time. It's always full and I have lots to watch when I get home from work. It's usually at like 75% full! lol, I could live without it if need be, because it's considered a luxury not a necessity
