I've got a perspiration problem.....

Ok. I'm not ashamed to say it. I've got big boobs. Yep. So herein lies the problem...the sweat between and underneath. Now, I've tried many things to overcome it. Powders. I don't like them much for several reasons. They wear off, it gets on my clothes, among others. I've padded my bra with napkins, paper towels...anything that might absorb the perspiration. Most recently I've tried applying deodorant under and between in the hopes that would work. They're all just temporary solutions. Anyone have anything more lasting that works? Help me out here!

Go for an anti-persperant, not a deodorant. Typically, these each have very different active main ingredients. As a good example, I'll explain ... I too am female and used to sweat alot. I tried a men's Red Zone thinking that it would work. Well.. it didn't. As a general rule, I shy away from most sterotypical feminine smelling/appearing decor, clothes, and beauty stuff. I do however, LOVE tropical and citrus scents and found a Suave anti-perspirant that has a coconut pineapple scent and gave it a try. Just the regular strength stuff (Ill get back to that in a minute).. low and behold.. a MIRACLE! I no longer have or feel the need to shower 4 times a day! The active ingredient is an aluminum product (I cant recall the entire name right now) If you do decide to give that a shot, compare product ingredients carefully. I almost paid $5 for a Suave "Prescription Strength" product, but when I compared it to the regular strength stuff, the main active ingredient was the same, and it contained the same amount of that product in both the regular and prescription stregth. Powders will only lead to skin irritation. So that takes care of the area near the under arms. For the rest of the problem, you may need to try a different style of bra. Some are made with a thicker padding, and others are not. Some have thick elastic in those spots, others do not. Those with thicker elastic and padding may pull the sweat away from the body and collect it, but then if you cant change from it right away, might lead to an annoying odor. Try finding a bra with great lift that are made in a way to promote better air circulation. One of mine was made from a netting type material, and I found that this works great. The paper towel/stuffing trick can only trap the perspiration, promote bacteria growth which in turn can produce foul odors, and over all it just irritates the skin. Skin irritation is just as bad. Also make sure that you have a bra that fits properly, or it will cause skin irritation and chafing that will mimic perspiration. Good luck!

Wow Zoey! You've got quite the wealth of info on this problem! Honestly, I didn't realize there was such a big difference between a deodorant and an antiperspirant but I guess it's all right there in the names, isn't it? lol. I agree about the powders and the skin irritation. That's what led me to look for another solution. I also never thought it much logical to use anything underneath to absorb for exactly the reasons you describe. And, man!, that smell can get pretty bad! Whooo! lol. I gave up the bra a long time ago so that's not a contributing factor. I'm definitely going to get some antiperspirant and give that a shot. I used the deodorant simply because that's what I had on hand. I'm not particular about "girly" stuff either. I really don't care, as long as it works. Although we have some Suave products here in Argentina, all I've seen so far are shampoo's and conditioners. I'll have to take a closer gander for the antiperspirant. Thanks for the heads up! Listen, if it's not too much trouble, could you post the list of components for the Suave that was your "miracle"? If I know what the ingredients are, I can translate them and then look for something here that's got the same stuff. That'd be awesome if you could! Thanks for all the suggestions

Awesome Zoey! Thank you so much for all this useful info! I really do appreciate it. So it seems that the aluminum chlorohydrate is the common connector. As I said before, Suave is not available here in deodorant or antiperspirant form, nor is Ban (I don't particularly care for roll-ons either!) but it helps to know the main ingredient I'm looking for. We do have Old Spice here. I'll have to take a look at those. Thanks so very much for your tips and input. I'm so excited to go shopping now! lol. Have a good one!

Suave Invisible Solid - Active ingredient.........Aluminum chlorohydrate (20%) ... I like this one best. It's not best to apply while skin is still wet from showering though. It leaves a chalky texture, but it's not visible or noticeable to others. Ban... Original Roll-On Active ingredient.........Aluminum chlorohydrate (18%) This goes on wet and takes a couple of minutes to dry. I don't particularly like this one and haven't used it much so it's hard to say really. Old Spice High Endurance Deodorant- Active ingredient........... Not sure Leaves a nice scent, but does not seem effective against sweating even though it is a men's deodorant. The ingredient listing has NO common ingredients with the suave. Showering every day is important, at the end of the day, to clean away any residues left by deodorants and antiperspirants as they can actually end up clogging pores. Showering too often can strip the skin of its natural oils and lead to irritation.

Hello veromar, my culture said it happens because we ate salty food too much. You can reduce the salt in your food, or no salt at all. In two days if you do this salt diet, your perspiration might reduce as well. Have a nice try.

Hi Ifa! Wow. I never made that kind of connection and probably never would have if you didn't suggest it. I usually try to limit my daily intake of salt in general because it's just not healthy. I'm going to take your suggestion and cut out all salt for a few days and see if it has any effect. It'll be a nice experiment!

Hi Ifa. That's really interesting that women who are going to get married use this method. Very interesting. I'll be sure to let you know if I notice any changes. Thanks again for the tip!

yeah i have that problem too. i've been known to stick an ice pack under there in summer. it is better since i gave up on bras (a whole other discussion there!)but it still can be annoying. using a good antiperspirant is useful but you'll still get uncomfortably hot. i'm not sure there is a solution!

Yeah, I'm beginning to wonder myself if there's a solution! Why?!?!? It's just not fair! lol. I gave up the bra nearly 20 years ago myself. Never could stand the things! (You should start that discussion! It'll be interesting to see if there are any generational differences.) As with under my arms, the antiperspirant helps until it wears off. I've never tried the ice pack idea. Sounds interesting but isn't it a bit....bulky? Do you use crushed ice in a baggie kind of thing, or, what do you use? Thanks for the input!

Hi Fheroan! It's must be sucha a hassle to have to keep going to the comfort room! I also where loose fitting clothes but the extra air circulation doesn't seem to help much....especially under these big bongos! lol. Thanks though!
