I watched A Walk To Remember for my first time in health class during my freshman year of high school. It was AMAZING. I heard people laughing and crying throughout the movie. Personally, the movie really touched me and taught me how we must not worry about what people think and cherish the people you love. What messages did other people get from the movie?

I think that the only thing that I really learned was to have faith, and that it's not always a matter of what you put your faith in per se... also that faith in one's self is a must in order for others to really be able to have faith in you.

The lesson that I have learned from it was that life in short and that we should make the most of it. Take Jamie for example in the movie, she knew she was dying but she never stopped living until she found love. She continued to live her life with the help of her father. And Brandon after finding out what's wrong with Jamie, he never left her side. I learned from the movie that importance of love and faith. Because of love, people were able to accept the fact about Jamie and Brandon and they supported them even people at first was not into the Jamie Brandon relationship. Its because of love that made them happy for the people around them. And the change in their hearts didnt really happen just because Jamie was dying. Another thing is about faith. It was faith that change Brandon and made him a better man because Jamie believed in him and he had faith in himself too. People never gave up on him though there was a time that he almost gave up. We can actually apply these things in our lives today by loving our neighbors. we can always have faith in ourselves and faith in others. As we do this, we are helping the world become a better place for us to live on.

Actually, my impression of the movie was two-way. I liked alot of the use of the script such as the references and quotes to the bible. The acting was okay, mediocre in my opinion. I think it was touching how he really turned his life around for Jamie, but I was going through a cynical phase when I last watched it. It seems miraculous that "love" changes a person so much inspite of everything going around them, and I wonder, is this movie directed to the sensitivity of the audience- everyone wants to believe that they can place their faith and trust in someone and have it resiprocate, that love can change a person, that people can change, that is the hope we have. Thankyou for the post! I've forgotten that movie for awhile :)

Life's too short to brood over petty things - and to spend your time with the people that matter the most before it's too late. Oh, and that Mandy can actually be VERY hot in a semi-clad manner. hehe :)
