Yes, Sailor Moon is an anime. Those other series mentioned are anime too. No matter how much some people try to deny it that won't change the fact. Just because these shows were on mainstream television and popular with kids doesn't mean anything. I honestly think those people who go around sprouting things like that are a bit narrow minded. Who cares if it's a kids show or not, if it's from Japan then it's an anime. Besides most of the mentioned shows are very significant because I know for a fact that a lot of people were introduced to anime through them.

Yes, they are all animes. Any animated series or movie, as long as from it's Japan and made by the Japanese, is an anime.

I still consider Sailor Moon, Pokemon, Yugio as anime. Yes I've heard from some forums that other people don't consider such as an anime. I really don't get why, probably these anime are for kids? Or probably they are the one of the first anime that was released so they still consider it as a cartoon? In my opinion, these are still a form of anime to me.

Anime is a french term used to describe animation. While many people think that only something created in Japan by a Japanese artist is Anime. This is incorrect. Any animation is technically anime. That being said, yes Sailor Moon and these other shows are anime. It's no different than how the Thundercats and Robotech are anime despite how many people don't realize it. Anime is an art style that is mostly associated with Japan. However, it's origins are derived from American cartoons. Betty Boop is one of the major influences on the reason that anime characters have large eyes, big boobs, and small facial features. So anyone citing that any show is not anime because it's popular or has a fan following of young kids and teens is a moron in my opinion. Now if they say it's not "good anime" that's an opinion that I see no issue with. It's based on taste and not erroneous information.
