Some people dream ONLY in black and white!! How about you?

I too dream in color!! Would be very sad to dream just in black and white. maybe these people don't have very good imaginations or something. Weird!

I agree that I think I'd feel abit sad if I didn't dream in color but then again there is nothing that one can do to change it. The research didn't say anything about why some people had color and others black and white. I wonder if it has something to do with personality types or something else. There is still so much that we don't know about how our brains work and why they work they way that they do. I for one am happy to be a color dreamer!

Surprised me too when I first read about the research. I had no idea that not everyone had color dreams like I did. I think I assumed that everyone had vivid color dreams just like me. Just goes to show what happens when we assume! Take care and be well!

Yes, it's been studied and the research that I was refering to was from a sleep study program at Berkley Univ in California. I am grateful that I am one of the color dreamers, think it'd be kinda boring to only have black and white! People don't control it either, somehow their brains decide on it for them. Just goes to show that our brains are much more complicated than we truly know yet. Take care.

wow! First time hearing about such. I usually dream realistic things. Things that sometimes does happened in real life. Totally bizzare but that's how it goes on me.

Well that makes alot of sense to me. I've read that our dreams are part of the way we process the things that happen to us in life. If I fall asleep with the tv on, parts of the program on or the music will become part of my dream. I fell asleep to a program about dinosaurs and you guessed it, there were dino's running around in my dream too! Good thing I like them! Take care.

I remember a few dreams that have color. But now I rarely do. Instead, I dream females in black in white but they were lively nonetheless. They have shiny legs though in shades of gray and I love it that way. Colors make me sick.

LOL...I wasn't refering to those dreams in particular! It sounds like you used to dream in color and then changed to black and white. How interesting! The study that I read about said that people don't have any control over whether the dreams are in color or not. At least you have lots of grey shading so it's not so bad. I think it would feel more like an old movie if my dreams were in black and white. More mysterious! Take care.

My dreams also have colours as well!But i find it's hard to remember all of the dreams when i awake!I only remember some little things that happend in my dreams!

It really varies for me. Sometimes I will wake up and remember a very long dream and other times just tiny pieces of it. And I have had it happen sometimes that during the day, I'll recall a small part of the dream as it is triggered by something around me. Like I'll hear a siren and then remember that in my dream from the other night, I got to ride in a firetruck! Fascinates me how the brain works and how much more there is to learn! Take care

I am fortunate to dream in color as well. I did remember one or two dreams when I was a child that were black and white. I did not like black and white movies, so when I had those dreams I remembered they lacked color and it bothered me. lol
In one of my college courses we studied dreams, and this subject came up. It rather shocked me that so many people dream in black and white. O, that would have driven me nuts! lol. Now it wouldn't bother me so much, but up until a few years ago it really would have bugged me.

I think it would have bugged me to my late years if all I had were black and white dreams! I do like some black and white movies but for the most part, I want color! So far I've only met one person that said to me that they only dreamed in black and white. I remember much of my dreams and tho they often don't make much sense they are at least beautiful!
