Recently,I try to do a kind of chicken snack in kitchen with cheese and garlic which are classic flavor combination as I know. At first, the recipe contains quite a little cheese powder, garlic powder, onion powder, some milk ingredients which could enhance the cheese flavor. But the result is not good, cause the cheese flavor is too light to taste. Then,I increase the cheese content a lot,but the final taste is too strong for cheese profile. I think it should contains other suitable flavor or seasonings to go well with the cheese & garlic flavor besides milk items and onion flavor. Which flavor would you like to add when the food with cheese & garlic flavor?

You could try using a combination of cheeses, some mild, some stronger, some "hard", some soft. Adding tomatoes, pasta, or rice, might make things meld a bit better also.

I'm not quite sure just what you're looking for, sunjing, and I don't understand what the marinade is. Generally speaking, you do not use cheese in a marinade, except maybe parmesan or something like it. Complimentary cheeses for chicken would be goat cheese, mozzarella, jack, provolone, swiss, etc. all fairly mild, but for topping or stuffing.

thanks epicure35. Last time I tasted a quarterly toasted chicken wing with cheese flavor in Pizza hut.The flavor is pretty balance with chicken. Alothough topping is normally used, marinade is adopted in the product. The glamourous profile of cheese is the combination of strong cheese flavor topnote and mild as well as long-lasting cheese in the mouth and aftertaste. So I think i should choose more than two kinds of cheese which would be mozzarella, goat cheese or provolone to achieve the target.

Thanks epicure35. if i just use cheese in fried chicken, the aftertaste would be definitely sole. Obviously cheese will go with other flavors to make food rebounded in the mouth. Today i tried it again and the marinade smells awesome. However, the cheese faded away quickly when just less cheese was added while the cheese was strong enough and other flavors, i mean, garlic and tomato, etc.were pale when more cheese used, that i can't accept it. Seems it should be the wrong kind of cheese to choose.

Hi, sunjing1985. I love to add garlic and onion powder that will go great along with any spicy snacks that I will have.

Hi cream97. garlic and onion are the basic seasonings in spicy food, just like salt and sugar. Also can apply in cheese flavor fried chicken. But the issue is that only garlic and onion can not give the comprehensive flavor.

Tomato would go quite well with that...if you are using cheese and garlic maybe use some bacon with it, that would work too.

Hi Dumpertaker. Thanks for giving the advice. You're right it works well when bacon mixes with cheese and garlic. In pizza hut, there is one popular pasta with cheese and bacon.I'll try it tomorrow! Haven't thought of tomato before. Also will have a try!Have a nice day!

i'm not much of a cook but i know one thing that goes well with cheese and garlic, and that is balsamic vinegar. bake a clove of garlic w/ EVOO (extra virgin coconut oil). don't overbake or it would taste bitter. once done, mix it with balsamic vinegar. as for the cheese, the idea im getting at here is melting a permegianno regianno (i dont know if i spelled it correctly) and mixing your balsamic vinegar (w/ garlic).

Hi myfinalh3av3n24! Adding balsamic vinegar is a good idea!Sometimes, when eating too much cheese would make him/her feel bored! But some spices or acid condiments(like garlic or vinegar)would balance the cheesy taste and at the same time increase flavors!Ok,I'll try balsamic vinegar!Hope it can be better!
