how do you feel if someone teasing you?

when i was a child , i always get angry if someone will teasing me about my ugly face and referring to someone's crezy person that look alike my face,by that time im going to cry because of anger i think its too much in my part but my mother always said "its okey ,its not true you should not get angry"...now that grow older at my age 19 years old now,still my cousins ,friends,some of my calssmatres teased me about my skin appearance which is an asian black race and said "black is beautiful but too much black is charcoal "after that they laugh out loud even in front of the class with our clinical instructor ,well i choose to laugh eventhough deep inside i get hurt and feeling so down ,i did not say anything as if im alright ,i used to hide my feelings .........is my reaction appropriate ?its okey perhaps its my natural skin color and im proud of being an asian race .......if you are on my part will you get angry or down ??what do you think?
