The first holy festival which marks the beginning of the new year, new month and new day for the Hindus falls on Chaitra Shukla Pradipada.It is also known as Gudhi padwa[Maharashtra],Ugadi[Karanataka,Andhra Pradesh]and rest of counrt known as Nau roz, Baisaki, Cheti Chand,Naba barsha,Guru Bihu,PUTHANDU,vISHU.It is assumed that on this day Lord Brahma created the universe.

Hi Codeofuniverse! Yes, here in Karnataka we celebrate it. It is called Yugadi. Yuga plus Adi equals Yugadi. Yuga means 'ERA' and Adi means 'START'
