Ever been in relationship, broken up and after long absence got back together?

I wonder how many people have been in a relationship, broke up...and then after a long time apart got back together again?
This happened with me and my Cuddle Bunny. I met her when I was 18, and we started going out and even got engaged, but sadly after a few years I had a bad bout of depression, I pushed everyone away...family, friends, everyone.
A kinda moved around to various places, and eventually kinda got my head sorted out and after ten years kinda plucked up the courage to talk to her on Facebook, where she asked to meet for a coffee, and last year we started going back out again.
So, has anyone else got any similar experiences they would like to share?

Hi, Dumpertaker! I have been into that situation myself..I had a relationship with a guy for a year then we broke up and after a couple of years, we accidentally saw each other in a common friend's party and voila! the magic just caught us up and we ended up lovers again. But sadly, it still didn't end up the way we hoped it would be. We each have a life of our own now, he got married and I had a relationship with another guy. They say, once a relationship had been put to separation, it will always end up that way.

I'm sorry thing did not work out, it's a pity.
I do wonder if my relationship with Cuddle Bunny is doomed to failure, it would be just my luck, but at the same time I'm willing to fight to make the relationship work as I love her very much.

That has never happened to me. There is only one person I've ever broken up with that I'd even consider getting back with. And a LOT of things would have to change before I'd even want to try it.

That is a very fair comment and can understand why you would say that.
For me and Cuddle Bunny...I changed, I like to think I have become a better person than when I was with her the first time around.

I have broken up twice, but i have not gotten bck to an ex. my ex tried, several times to talk to me.. to try to work things out, but i have not thought about it anymore.. i think i gave up in the past, and i dont want to go through the same things again with this person so.. no can do.

That is a fair comment that you worry that the same issues may arise, also in some ways it is something you already know, so you can work on things easier hopefully.

Well, that s just nice what happened to you. it s all good for me though. the girls dump me but it s fine. i just move on, find a new one then see if it works out.

im so happy for you that after a long years and got separated the two of you had back to each other. it just means that you both love each other despite the years of separation. i had that experience too, but not that long. only a few weeks only, i thought that he could not resist me. i could say is that love is lovelier the second time around.

Yes you are right, what people could not understand about me was when me and my Cuddle Bunny were apart I never looked at another lady, I guess I still loved her even though I pushed her away.
Love is certainly better second time around, I feel blessed to be back with her again.

My husband and I were inseperable in our late teens, family interference eventually pushed us apart and we stayed that way for almost 12 years, neither of us ever got married..20 years ago fate pushed us back together, we were married within a month of reuniting, 20 years later we are still happily married.
