Do you think that 3D movies are worth paying extra for?

Here in the UK in the last year there have been several movies that you could see in digital 3D, with new glasses that are all black instead of red and green. The first movie I saw in this digital 3D was Monsters vs Aliens, and after that I have seen Ice Age 3, The Final Destination and more recently Alice In Wonderland. Do you think that the movie that are done in digital 3D are worth an extra premium to go and see? Do you expect them to go down in price eventually? Some movies look really good in 3D, but a lot of them are not so good, and I feel that Alice in Wonderland is a prime example there. I look forward to reading your thoughts.

Not really no, but I also dont think blueray is worth paying exra for either. Sometimes the 3D makes me a little sick and its not always well done through the software and such they use.

I used to have a large collection of DVDs (over 1,100 sets) and have recently got rid of a large amount of my collection because I want to replace them with Blu-Ray and was quite surprised how expensive still they are. I will pick up the Blu-Ray discs when I see them cheap and in sales, think that the best thing to do at the moment.

thats quite a collectionm. What was it that provoked you and finally pushed you over the edge to get rid of all your DVDs and replace them with blueray? I mean, I understand buying blueray some of the time but what I dont undersatnd is replacing everyhing unless there is something wrong with it. My VHS for example wont work anymore andthat is why Im replacing it with DVDs. Im not sure how many bluerays you will find on sale and how many of those 1,100 sets of DVDs youll be able to replace soon (or even later) because you are waiting for lower prices and if not then you probally wont (although you might) have the cash to back up that kind of a venture.

Well, the ones I can replace with blu-ray, they will take up less space (box sets are smaller) and also they sometimes have better extras, and of course there is better quality picture. Another reason I got rid of them was that I needed to free up some room, it was almost like the DVDs were taking over my life!

3D and I don't mix. For some reason I always get headaches. It's been like that for ages, so I don't bother wasting my money on seeing a film in 3D. I don't really think the price will go down. Movie ticket prices in general only really seem to go up in price, so I can't see the 3D ticket price going down.

I know a lot of people who cannot watch 3D movies because it gives them headaches, which is a pity.

I think that the prices for 3D movies are really expensive. I know it's new technology, but I think the movie goer is being ripped off.

Where I live its 2.50 extra, and I don't think thats bad, but I don't like wearing glasses, can't stand haivng things on my face so I just choose not to do the 3D. SOmetimes I wish I would see movies in 3D, like Alice in Wonderland, I kept thinking that it was probably awesome in 3D, but its just not for me.

To be honest, Alice in Wonderland wasn't that good in 3D it literally lacks depth. Pity, as the movie isn't to bad.

Yes. I really don't mind paying extra for 3D movies. It is always exciting to take the watching experience into a whole new level. I watched Monsters vs Aliens on my birthday last year and I really enjoyed it. At that time, I wish every movie was in 3D. The last 3D movie I saw was Avatar. I haven't watched Alice yet although I am dying to watch it. I'm also dreaming to have my own 3d glasses at home so I can watch movies in 3d at the comfort of my own home.
