Ok. Maybe I'm daft but I just don't get the search feature!

Every time I search for something using the MyLot search feature I get a message saying nothing was found. Is there some secret or trick that I'm not aware of? Exactly what do we use this search for???? Is it specifically for MyLot or the web in general? I just don't get it and it's quite frustrating! I read posts all the time of people that have used it so what am I doing wrong? Who here has had some success in finding search results? Am I the only one who can't use the blasted thing?!?!? lol. Help!
