Would you donate your body for medical research after your death?

Jyoti Basu - Served as the Chief Minister of West Bengal from 1977 to 2000 the longest serving Chief Minister of any Indian State. He died when he was 95.

Jyoti Basu was an Indian Politician belonging to the Communist Party of India(Marxist) from West Bengal, India. He served as the Chief Minister of West Bengal from 1977 to 2000. He had pledged to donate his body and eyes for medical research and not to be burned at a crematorium. I am not a great fan of this politiician but this act of his has made me to decide that I would really love to follow his footsteps and donate my body after my death.

Well, I would not do that! I would rather donate my organs to the needy!

I carry a donor card and have also registered as an organ donor. If the medical profession can use any of my organs then I would rather they did to help someone else to live

It's a complex problem which worth considering carefully. On one side, our family do not want to see a fragmentary body and on the other side, donation bodies will save other life. I would like to follow this as well because I just feel my life will be extended by another body. But first of all, I must persuade and have an agreement with family because I also do not let them sad on this. So it is actrually a problem of make balence between the opinion of the 2 sides.

Well yes why not? If my body is useful to help others, that would be great. Better than just rotting away or being burned. This way others have a chance too. Maybe my heart is still good, and someone can use a new one. Or one of my Kidneys. It is good to help others.
