Funny............I Thought They'd Be Bigger Than That

Sunday is usually pizza day at the Bear residence. We buy a nice frozen pizza and then doctor it up with our own veggies, toppings, spices, and of course, extra cheese. Besides the pizza, we also have some kind of appetizer/side dish......chicken nuggets, jalepeno poppers, mozzerella sticks, or some other type of fried yumminess. Well, today Missybear came home from the store and informed me that she picked us up a box of "Buffalo Balls." Well I like trying new culinary things, and though I've never tried "Rocky Mountain Oysters," (which are neither oysters nor grown in The Rocky Mountains), I welcomed a new taste sensation. So, I plugged in The Fry Daddy and removed The Buffalo Balls from the box.......well imagine my surprise when I saw the size of them......they were only the size of a large marble.....maybe about the size of half a golf ball. I thought to myself, buffalo are HUGE creatures, surely there must be something more to their "jewels" than these small but tasty looking breaded nuggets.......I thought maybe they made the buffalo swim in cold water whilst harvesting their baby making nuggets...........which then got me thinking about entire herds of buffalo running around without their "oysters." Anyways, I pulled them from their hot oil bath and put them on a plate and bit into one. I waited for the exotic flavors to engulf my taste buds.....IT TASTED EXACTLY LIKE CHICKEN!!! I looked at the inside where i had taken a bite from......IT LOOKED EXACTLY LIKE CHICKEN!!! I looked at the box......They were manufactured by a leading chicken processor......WHEN DID CHICKEN COMPANIES GET INTO THE BUSINESS OF TURNING BUFFALO INTO SHOW TUNE SINGING FALSETTOS?!?!? CHICKEN!!! IT WAS EXACTLY LIKE EATING CHICKEN!!! Missybear finally pointed out to me that what we were eating wasn't ACTUALLY Buffalo Balls.....they were just called Buffalo Balls.....Like Buffalo Wings......the "Buffalo" in the name referred to the flavor not the animal. She assured me that the Buffalo Balls were actually made from chicken...... ..........hmmmmmmmm..............chicken balls........... ...........chicken balls......... MAN!!! THOSE THINGS WERE HUGE!!!! I'd sure hate to run into that rooster in a dark alley. Eat anything interesting lately?

Hey Sconi! Now it is 1:35 AM here in Yonkers, NY and I am now lmao! This discussion was just what I needed right now! I came back here because I needed a little relaxation time since I've got some serious stuff to deal with)!I was reading your discussion and it made sense, sort of? I always wondered why "Buffalo Wings" got their name, and come from a chicken! So, after Missy's explanation about the "Buffalo Balls, I get it! And a great joke for a discussion! Thanks my favorite "Bear Couple" or making me laugh tonight! Love and Hugs, Leslie/Opal
