I still remember the time I had my first pet. It was a puppy. I treated it like a friend. I never fail to bathe it, feed, and many more. I was still young then and I thought that dogs last their lives as if until I am grown up. It died after 10 years and I really cried. I don't know why but that's how attached I am to animals. I cared for them the same way I care for people. It's really a sad experience because until now I miss my pet. How about you, did you feel the same?

When I was 3 years old my parents bought a dog, and he became a big part of my childhood. When I was 12 we had to put him to sleep, because he was ill. It was very sad. The vet came over to our house and he put the dog to sleep in the kitchen while the rest of us were in the living room .My brother was only 4 years old and he didn't understand the situation. The vet carried our dog away in a big bag, my brother saw that, and he kept on asking my mother if the vet gave our dog something to eat and drink while he was inside the bag. My mother tried to explain the situation to my brother, but he was too young to understand.

I remember when I had to have my cat put to sleep because she was quite old and getting sick with kidney disease. This little girl was my best friend for 18 years, and went through a lot of life experiences with me, both good and bad. When I had to make that decision to end her life, even though I knew it was the kindest thing I could do for her, I felt as if I had ..well...killed her. My heart was broken then, and still is to this day. I have 6 cats now that I dearly love, but I will never feel the same way about them as I did her.

We took a day off and spent time on the beach not wanting to get back home. He was a part of our life and it was difficult to live without him.

I still remember my first dog dying and that was over 20 years ago. He was a puppy and his name was Spunky. He was 6 months old and got parvo. By the time we found a vet who figured out what he had there wasn't much we could do for him. They wanted to operate but there was no guarantee that Spunky would live. I still remember sitting in the back seat of the car taking him to that hospital and leaving without him. We ended up putting him down. I was crying all the way home even the office staff was sad. They sent me a very nice card after. I felt like I didn't do a good job taking care of him. I still remember that day like yesterday and I remember the song on the radio and I hate that song to this day. It reminds me of Spunky.
