I understand what the diamond signifies in the engagement ring... but what does it mean in the wedding ring? And could/should a man have diamond(s) in his wedding band?

I think that it is uncommon for a man to have diamonds put in his wedding band, but times are changing. It also didn't used to be popular for men to have sparkly studs in their pierced ears. If he has the money for it, and is willing to pay for it, then it's a matter of personal preference. I have always aligned the diamonds to a symbol of love. A diamond lasts forever, and is impossible to break (with a few special materials being the exception); that is how I view love. It is a symbol of a long term commitment, especially since diamonds are so expensive.

I agree with you one hundred percent, jenrose. It's a matter of preference. And you're right about the reason diamond was chosen for the gem of everlasting love. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks churchill... That's what I understand also. So if both the man and woman have diamonds in their wedding rings, does it symbolize the marriage will last forever? Is that what you mean?
