Do you celebrate Easter? How do you celebrate this holiday? What kinds of things do you do to celebrate? Do you go anywhere or do anything special? We have always dyed Easter eggs the night before Easter. On Easter morning the kids wake up to discover the Easter Bunny has visited and left them a basket full of goodies. Than we go to Church, where we stay for the Easter service, than have an egg hunt for all the children, followed by a potluck. It's a very enjoyable holiday.

I live in a country that observes Holy Week very much. Starting Holy Monday everyone is expected not to be so loud as there are a lot of people (especially the old ones) are starting to contemplate spiritually. From Monday to Saturday most of the places in the whole country are quiet and solemn ( of course except those places where people spend their days without work most of those are located in beaches. so come the Easter Sunday we celebtate it with a bang. Some prepare good foods for the whole family some go to malls, parks or anywhere that they can spend time with their loved ones.

This is actually very interesting. What country are you from? I have nefore before heard of holy week, but it sure does sound like a wonderful thing. It soounds like you all have a great big celebration in your country when it comes to Easter Sunday, must be nice, and something to really look forward to. I love learning about other countries and how different holidays are celebrated in those countries.

There aren't any kids around so we don't dye eggs any more, make easter baskets, etc. Some times my sister and her husband come down (they live about 120 miles away) and we'll (my Mom, sister, brother-in-law and me) go to the cemetery to "speak" with my Dad and sister and then we'll go out and eat. Somewhere in there, we thank God...

We do different things for Easter it all depends on what everyone is doing. But all of us (that can some aren't able) attend church. That is FIRST then we have dinner, after dinner we have an Easter Egg hunt, although 2 years ago we had to cancel the egg hunt because we had so much snow so everyone went sledding for our Easter Egg hunt!!! I always color eggs with the kids in my Wednesday night Children's class, last night I had 13 kids. This year we are presenting a closing for the Palm Sunday Service and my Sunday School and Wed night class (I have different children) are presenting the "steps of Salvation". On Good Friday we are having a family gettogether to color Easter Eggs. There will be at least 21 of us. Sometimes my teen grandchildren will bring a friend to color Eggs.

Every other year my children are with their fathers for Easter. Therefore, our celebration style varies depending on when the children are home. We sometimes dye Easter eggs. The children get up on Easter morning when they are home and find that the Easter Bunny has left for them. I also hide Easter eggs either in the house or out in the yard depending on the weather. The kids then get to hunt for the eggs. That is the basic way that Easter goes in our home.

That is a lot like how we spend Easter as well. I guess it's pretty much similar for a lot of familes. I always enjoyed hiding and hunting for Easter eggs as a kid. My daughter should have a lot of fun doing it this year, now that she is older she will understand the concept of easter egg hunting a lot more. Last year, we had to help her get the eggs and put them in the basket, I'm sure she'll do really well this year!

We celebrate Easter by going to the church to attend the celebration early morning. Then, it is followed by an egg hunt participated by the children in the community which is a lot of fun since everybody can have time to enjoy the activity together. It is also a good interaction to the other members of the community as well.

yeah i think..! everyone celebrates it traditionally first go to church the visit from one to another place, kids hunting for eggs, family and friends are gathered in the house, grilling outside, chatting about their kids and about work, some people have their own karaoke in their house, picture taking outside with kids. You can see different easter banners & bunnies outside, Friends come and go..visiting from one grandma to another grandpa..then ppooooffff!!! easter is over..
