Robert Harrison who lives in West Yorkshire, Great Britian spent the equvilant to 747 dollars to take photos and even video from space. He used a helium filled balloon, a polystyrene box, and a camera. It takes NASA billions of dollars to take photos like this, http://www.ktla.com/news/landing/ktla-balloon-home-photos-space,0,5393976.story http://www.flickr.com/photos/30721501@N05/collections/72157621244472915/

It is very interesting to know. I read the article. At the end, it says, need to take permission from FAA. what is FAA ?

I do not know why they put that in there. The FAA only applies if you are an American. If you are then it is the Federal Aviation Authority.

I am not seeing this news on any other news channels or websites. I think it is a hoax. Is it a reliable website for news ?

Yes I've read about this a couple of months ago. I believe they even had to get permission from the local airport authority to put this thing up. Anyway goes to show that NASA isn't the only way around which is what I think Obama has in mind with the cancellation of the Constellation Project and the termination of the Shuttle Program.

If this is true then it's pretty simple to do it, but how come it didn't burn when entering the atmosphere?
