I mean medical issues! Now I have swelled ankes and my lower legs are always re. My hands get the same way. I still haven't made a doctor appointment yet but will. I saw a school nurse at the place I work at. Thnks to my weight and being on my feet all day I have a circulation in my legs! I need to get support stockings and elavate my legs when I can. With the hands I could have had minor frost brite at one time or it is something else! Growing old sucks and I wish I wasn't turning 48 this year!

Do your ankles/legs swell up throughout the day or mostly in the later half of the day? Like when you wake up in the morning, are they puffy? When you poke your shin with your fingers (hold for a second or two), and does the flesh/skin bounce back, or does it have a dent that stays for a while? If so, it is often fluid retention. I know from experience that this could lead to other things such as kidney failure or weakness. Make sure to keep track and hopefully please see a medical person at your clinic. You may even want to get a blood test to check the kidney functions. Best of luck to you.

If you are retaining extra fluid now, track your weight for safety. If you are gaining weight steadily for no known reasons, it could be something to worry about. Mention kidney concern too. Good luck, and let us know how it goes.

I don't have alot of swelling in the morning. It gets worse as the day goes on. I am on my feet most of the day because of my 2 jobs. My legs also get more red as the day goes on. When I poke my shin it hurts and my shin doesn't pop back right away! I will see my doctor tomorrow and hopfully I'll find out what is going on with my legs!

I got 9 years on ya, and while I've never had frostbite, I have in the past had some swelling problems. I started getting the "arch support" socks and those have REALLY helped keep the swelling down in my feet. I don't each much salt so that's not a problem, in fact, I'm one of those who actually can get low on salt in the summer because I eat so little.

I will be seeing the doctor tomorrow about my legs swelling up. I know my feet swell up a little also. I try to elevate my legs when I can. That seems to help. I hope I can get support stockings as soon as I can! I'm sure they will help! I hope I can wear shorts or at least capri's this summer! Otherwise I will burn up at work!

They say that with age comes wisdom, well that's not all it comes with hun. As I have grown older I have managed to acquire osteoarthritis in all my joints, swollen legs and ankles, increased weight as the ability to exercise decreases, some degenerative nerve damage in my neck and I'm only 58
