Is it a bad sign when your sites say bandwidth limit exceeded?

Hello everyone, I tried to log into a few of my sites today and it came up with an error screen that says bandwidth limit exceeded. I was just wondering if this is a bad sign for sites and means that they may have problems or shut down soon? I'm thinking that it's probably just a bunch of new members joined or something but I'm not real sure so any help would be helpful. Thanks.

I think it 's a bad sign because It's Lenten season, all user uses the internet. It slow down the connection of the internet bandwidth w/c we are experiencing right now. We can't post immediately as it slow.

i think it's both a good sign and also a bad sign if i come across a site saying that bandwidth limit exceeded. good is because it means that the site is very popular and over the expectation of the owner. bad is because the owner is poor and cannot afford for a better hosting plan.
