Why iPod so attractive?

I haven't gotten a chance to buy myself an iPod. From my basic knowledge about iPod, it is merely a device to play mp3, or play video movies with a touch screen, cell phone like tiny machine. Pretty much like a mp3 player if you majorly using it for listening to music. So, what other features did I miss here, and why is it so attractive to many people?

If what you mean is an iPod touch then it is truly very attractive to many. The device is so easy to use and the interface is totally for everyone. You could actually download and purchase tons of applications from the App Store and there are many games there too. The sound quality of the iPod is not the best even with the best headphones but still good for some.
