Can someone give me suggestions on how to earn money online through writing?

I am applying in a public school but the competition is very difficult. Before an applicants get hired, it will took months of waiting. So, I decided to go look for some ways to earn money online. I am also thinking of having a further study in a University and with that I need more extra money. By reading the different post here, I learned that we can earn through writing articles. Is there a site which will not limit us to write what we want to? What I mean is that, is there a site in which we can write anything under the sun? I think, if we are the one responsible for the topic we will write, then it will be easier. Anyone here earning good in writing online? Please give me suggestions on how can I earn in that way. I think u go for squidoo and bukisa, troind is also a good option i feel.

there is one writing site that i have used. but it can be hard to earn from writing on it if you are unable to write very well. the name of the site is triond.
