Imagine A Life Without Competition

Competition(definition)- the act of competing for an advantage, supremacy, or a prize. We live in a world that is so competitive that we can't even find it in our hearts to get along with each other enough to not have huge wars killing millions of our brothers and sisters. Corporations are so run by competition and being able to get more money then other companies that they will produce terrible quality products just to try and beat their competitor. The whole time that we have been competing with each other for whatever reason we could have been working together. With the power of us all on the same team, Team Planet Earth, shouldn't we be thinking of how we can improve life and the world that contains it. Competing medicine companies could combine funding, knowledge, and research to come up with the best and most logical cures. We don't need to live in a world where we need to constantly be better then one another. I see so many people wasting their lives at jobs they hate because they think they are better then someone else because they have a nice house or a nice car or something like that. I feel like a life without competition would help us too better someday find peace. It's sad too see that some people can't see that we all feel the same emotions. Competition also feels people to take advantage of generous and kind hearted people. It's easy to make a quick benefit by taking something from them and competition could be part of that. We should all be working together on universal happiness and knowledge, because we've seen what this competition nonsense has led us too. Millions of dead bodies and worse and worse threats of nuclear warfare and better and better death machines made daily. Please share your opinions with me, mylot is a place filled pretty well with compassion. Much love brothers and sisters

in a sense, i do like competitions. it would be boring if there aren't any competitions. some of the competitions you mentioned like the war, well everyone doesn't like war. but people love basketball and basketball is a type of competition. i wouldn't want basketball to disappear in our lives. and the medicine companies or any other companies for that matter, they're competing with each other to earn money. that's just the way it is. just imagine if they're not competing with each other, wouldn't there be lack of motivation? why? cuz there isn't any rival companies anymore. do you see where i'm getting at?

say what? i don't see any lawyers doing that here. and if ever that happens here it's another issue. it's about not following the rules. you may be right about the healing motivation stuff part but competition is the better motivation than healing. think for a moment if they had both as their motivation, healing people while competing with other companies, don't you think it would be a great motivational boost? i think it is. and as far as your concern for basketball player's salaries, i don't like it either but that's how it is now. you can't change it. i just don't like the sport to disappear, as well other sports for that matter. if competition of all sorts disappear everything will be lame and everyone will grow incompetent, which is one of the worst things that can happen to a human being. better leave those incompetent ones behind and keep competing for life, that's what i think. for me, if you're incompetent that's fine. but i truly believe that today it's still the 'survival for the fittest'.

If theres no friendly competition at all then life will be so boring. No one will strive more just to achieve their goals, lets say not all but it will be less exciting and more complicated if theres no such thing as competition. You wont be able to compare if your job is better than someone else, you wont be able to see if your improving or not at least in many ways. I think competition in itself gives us the thrill and excitement that our life needs to be much more fun and exciting ;)Unless your the type who dont like to compete because you think you dont have the means or the ability to do so, just have fun and enjoy life ;)

It's hard to have fun and enjoy life when I see so many individuals driven to be better then everyone else that they don't stop to help someone that isn't doing so well. Competition makes a lot of people get stepped on because people just want to be the best so bad. I guess competition can be a good thing but really people should want to make improvements to themselves on their own not just because they want to make themselves think they are better then others.

i think competition is a very good thing if this is done in limits and rules. without rules and limit there is no mean of competition. i think the biggest example is the space science and satellite we are using today. that is due to competition between USA and USSR. so this is one example.

Yes but imagine the progress we could have made already by combining forces the whole entire time. Competition is good I guess but it's not the right kind of motivation that people should have. Our motivation to want to improve our selves or something else in life shouldn't be too be better then someone else. It should be to help the good of mankind as a whole. There are still a lot of people that don't see that we are equal.

competition will always be in this world, there is no balance and challenge if this will gone, like the competition between two business man, they will not challenge if the other one will not do anything, hope you get my point, competition is a natural in this world, like competition between animals and humans!
