I'm a pretty chatty person, but as soon as I get on the plane... I clam up.. For some reason, I don't usually talk to strangers on planes. I just wear earplugs, recline my seat and read a book.. But I know there are this kind of story, they met their boyfriend/girlfriend/partner on a plane.. It's like you were sitting next to each other on a flight, and then suddenly you fell asleep on his/her shoulder.. (It was pretty cute).. lols!.. Then once woke up, you started talking to each other, and a week later, you're officially an item.. (Isn't that adorable?!) What about you guys? Are you talkative on planes, or do you like to keep quiet? Are you scared of flying? (Sometimes talking to people can be a good distraction?

I sometimes talk to people, I dont really mind, I can talk to anyone or I can just watch the film and read a book. I will usually figure out if the person sitting next to me wants to talk, either way its not a problem, unless Im watching the film and they are tapping my shoulder to talk (which has happened!)

nice one!, i never had that experience though, but if ever that thing happens to me, surely I don't know how to start up for a sensible topic.. I'm afraid that other people might find be insensible with my choice of topic.. So, I prefered to keep my mouth shut.. lol

Best way to start a conversation on a plane, "have you been to this country before", "its my first time, Im very excited", and one thing I always do is that when the meals come around, usually there is a carton of juice if flying in the morning, I never drink the juice so always ask the people sitting next to me if they want it, the last lady was very grateful and was very chatty for the rest of the flight, strange what offering a carton of juice can do. Usually you will find that if you ask them a question and they give you one word answers and then dont ask anything back, you will realise that they just dont want to talk.

I think that depends on who are you sitting with. I had an experience like that when I flew back to Manila from Japan. This girl who sat beside me, happens to work in a bar/club and started to talk to me about her experiences working as a GRO. Since I'm not a snobbish person, I responded to her and got interested with her story. So during that 4 hour trip, we talked about a lot of things about ourselves. She even gave me her number and asked me if could we hang out some other time, but unfortunately I lost her number.

Haha...this doesn't happen at all. I get airsickness so the moment I'm on the plane, I pop a few pills and am knocked out. That was the case during my last trip. It was a 16 hour flight and I missed almost all of it. I only woke up when it was time to eat. But on the off chance that I'm awake, I typically keep to myself. I watch whatever movie is on or just listen to music to pass the time.

Well, I'll definitely do the same thing if it was a 16 hour flight.. hehehe,.. I like riding in plane but not the long hour travel.. I can't enjoy it. :)

Hi Jenfer, Good day! I'm also a chatty person but just like you talking to a stranger in a plane is not my thing. For some reason I'd rather be quiet when travelling whether by land or air. Even if I'm with my friends I don't chat with them during travel. I usually sleep. I sometimes get dizzy or nauseous when travelling and I guess that's the reason.

I've never been fond of talking to people on airplanes. I'm not a very outgoing person and it's very awkward if you talk to them. I just put my earphones on, listen to music. Otherwise, I'm just staring at the onscreen movie.

It depends of my neighbors. If they want to chat and are interesting -- if they don't bombard me of questions after two minutes : I hate this --, I can be very talkative. Most of the time, I don't speak in planes.

maybe that's the reason why I don't feel talking in planes, because I don't like to be asked by a strangers a lot of questions, that sometimes leads to personal views in life or worst politics.. lols

I am not a talkative person when I am on a plane. I just like to relax and listen to music on the head phones or watch an in flight movie. But I do have to talk to the person sometimes when they are eager to talk to me. Then I would be more than happy to strike up a conversation with them.

I do both, depending on who's next to me. Sometimes, I just read one of the plane magazines, a book, etc. and keep to myself. But sometimes, the person next to me, if they start the conversation, and I will get in to a pretty good discussion. Either way is fine...

I tend to fly internationally on a pretty regular line and alone , and I almost always end up talking to the people sitting next to ( in case they are not any i tend to talk to neighbors seats lowl ) I think i've got "I'm Friendly Chat To Me " tattood on my forehead , its alot of fun and i have really meet some interesting characters along the way too. I dont want to impose or say to anyone to do as i do , because that who i am and i feel pretty comftorble around people. Cheers and a verry Happy Easter Hollyday.

i dont really talk unless the person next to me is talking to me and so i have no choice but to answer though no personal questions coz i hate it. maybe some questions about the country were heading so we can share things about it to have an idea and etc. but if im the one to talk first then no, its not my type.
