I'm typing. I knew that it was the back light cuz when i slant the monitor towards me and hover the mouse, i can see it moving from the monitor, as well as the other icons but it's really dark.

So, Actually your laptop screen is not completely in blackscreen condition, but in dark condition? That's what you mean? Tell me more info: 1. how long this problem happened? 2. Is you laptop ever fall before? 3. how load your laptop is? 4. Do you use screen saver? 5. What power management do you use? Always on? Portable? energy saving? 6. Is there any strange habit of your laptop? perhaps, if you push F5, suddenly your laptop will shut down? Please provide these info, and maybe I can help you undergo your laptop problem

i think it is just a problem related to display as it could be trying to save battery. and if it is not some graphical issue could also be there. i think you must restart your system and it must come back. but if it does not then you must ask to the service.

If I am not wrong it must be hardware problem.. It shouldn't be virus. so you just take it to service center, they can only solve problem.

hi there, frontvisions101! you did not indicate what your laptop's brand and model is, but here are just some of the tips that i can provide you at the moment. first have you tried switching off then switching on again your unit? if it did not work, try adjusting the brightness control,if there is any, on the monitor. if you do not know where the controls are located, it would be a lot better to refer to the user's manual. if all your effort produced no positive results at all, my suggestion is to bring your unit to the nearest service center because it might still be under warranty to save you from further expense. regards!

My laptop is a Dell. It's really old and i'm not sure where the model name is located. Thanks for this, man. I've already figured out. It's the backlight. I think it already gave in. All of you are right. Definitely a hardware problem..

Hi friend May be its a virus. Or may be LCD display of your laptop has gone bad and need replacement. Show it to professional in your area.

you really think it is so? I was hoping i could fix it rather than bring it to a professional. That would cost me and i can't afford anything like that for now..
