Hi there, I have a problem. One of our labs pc (DELL Optiplex 330) suddenly hdd password protected. I think one of the students set this password. But we cannot find who did it. And also asked for support from DEll. No answer yet. How can I reset this password? It is possible? SATA HDD ST3160815AS, DELL Optiplex 330.

Hard disk ***9RXAYQQRB-595B is protected by a password. Enter the password or press (ESC) to exit. (Disk remains locked if (ESC) is used) Enter password:

Try reseting the CMOS battery inside the chassi. You can open up the optiplex manual from support.dell.com or you can call 18008228965 ext 7240444

Hello humuun, You have to remove a password jumper on your motherboard to reset the password. Download at support.dell.com the User Guide for the Optiplex 330 in PDF. You will find a "how to" with a picture p. 91 ss. I hope this help you.
