I was really tempted to buy a plant growing system that I saw on Tv but decided to get it locally. Have you ever bought anything from watching TV informercial or TV ad? If so, did it meet or exceed your expectations?

I think informercials take up too much time on TV. I reaize they bring in money for stations and give them an excuse to broadcast 24 hours a day anybody remember when TV stations used to sign off at night) but they've begun to soak p too much TV time. They used to be on overnight and now they're on during the day especially on week ends. I especialy hate the ones that try to be like news programs. I don't watch them and so I'm never tempte t buy anything.

Just like you,I buy things locally if I get tempted by any tv shows.Relying on them is not good as they may not have service network.More over,we can inquire about the products locally with lot of ease and decide whether it could be a good purchase.Persoanlly I have bought some kitchen things for my wife.

Usually the kitchen items are the most tempting since I love to cook and have lots of fun trying out new gadgets and recipes. Many times I have been tempted until I see the shipping costs and realize that is where they are really making the most money and I don't like that. It seems deceptive to me. Thanks for sharing!

I'm a real gadget nut, especially home products for cleaning or cooking. I've actually bought several items but not from the commercials because the shipping and handling is ridiculous. Also, some of the commercials sign you up for a newsletter or additional products that they charge to you as well. I won't get involved in that. There are several stores in my area that carry the As Seen On TV products, including Walgreens, CVS, Walmart and Bed, Bath and Beyond. After I've seen the commercials a few times, I look for reviews of the products on the internet and see what others have to say about them. If I'm still interested, I purchase them from one of my local stores. You don't always get the bonus products that they include on t.v., but the price is much more affordable. Some of my favorites are the Swivel Sweeper (I've had mine for several years and I love it), My Cricut cutter, Pasta Cooker for the Microwave and the hearing aid that helps my 79 year old mother enjoy television without turning the volume up to maximum since she is getting very deaf. I guess it's like all products. Some people love them and some don't. It's up to each person to evaluate a product and decide if that is the best purchase for them. I've been pleased with the items I've chosen so far.

I've bought a few things off of infomercials. Most of the time the items were good, on occasion you end up something that doesn't even come close to the claims. Word of mouth by others that have bought what you want to try helps a lot. I like now that some of the stuff you can buy in stores at a lower price. If I see something in the store, I open it right there and see first if it is a quality product, sometimes things you would pay a lot for on tv, when you see the actual product, it is cheap junk or a lot smaller than how it was made to look on tv. It's really a live & learn process.

I have bought a couple of things from infomercials and my husband has bought many things. All of the things he bought turned out to be junk. The couple of things I bought were pretty good. A Swivel Sweeper that works pretty well and Nads hair remover were two good things that I bought.

Hello Tallygirl09, No, I have not spent any money on infomercial. My sister has and she been ok with the results and the products. In my opnion the stuff can be pricey at times. Sometimes I like to listen to them but after while these infomercial get very boring. I mean how amny ways can you describe a vaccum cleaner etc.. (lol) sometimes there slogans are funny or catchy but I never bit. Thanks and have a Great day Sincerely Unqiue16
