my first subject was adapted to one of the articles i've read on the newspaper couple of years ago. let me share the story with you with what i remembered. the article is about the story of a soldier from world war II, whom one day called his parents to tell them that he's coming home and he is coming with a friend who has a bad fate at the last fight that made him disabled. his friend unfortunately step up on a mine that was planted by the enemy causing him to lose his 1 arm and 1 leg. his parents said they are happy that he is coming home and excited about it, but they also said that he must not take with him his friend as he can be a burden in their family, that maybe he can have his own life outside their home. after hearing what his parents said he hanged up the phone. a week after someone called the parents to inform that their son had committed suicide. on the hospital they were shocked upon learning that their son have only 1 arm and 1 leg. sometimes people are self-centered and think that helping other's especially those in need is such a burden to them. i hope this story may help us to appreciate other people and accept them as they are, be ready to help them in anyway and not just loving them because they are complete and not going to be a burden to us.

It is really a very touching and a heart rending story. We must accept people as they are and not as we want them to be.

This is such a sad story...People who are handicapped must be given a chance to live a full life regardless of their disabilities and not be treated as a half-person. Even though they are disabled, they are trying to live and not be a burden to others. We must try to understand them, especially those who really are not born handicapped. They do not want to be like that nor to be pitied. It was just brought on by circumstances and we must do what we can to lift their spirits because most of them undergoes depression.

You're right. Just because people are disabled doesn't mean we can ignore them. We have to help them as much as we can. This is a very sad story. People in the army are risking their lives for the country and some just don't care about it. It sucks knowing that.

thank you for reading the story and hope this can be helpful for all of us to easily extend our help and be a good samaritan to the passerbys in our life that need our help. :)
