If you have a blog that is very useful or popular you can make your members our subscriber to that blog or website to follow you on twitter. Having a website or a blog is an advantage to have many followers, because you have your own community to start it. But the basic is still the concept of what you are doing. If your what you do is really helpful or informative followers will come to you.

I think there are 4 task that have to be donq
1. use http://buzzom.com. It will increase you follower number.
2. make tweets everyday.
3. respond direct message and greeting the followrs.

Yes i also used twitter.. it is a good website and also i have 4 followers on that website .. but i not gave much time ob this website.. have a nice day and keep mylotting always..

Yup, I know someone that got hundreds of referrals through twitter, I've been also trying it, I've got few referrals but not as much as my friend does, maybe because they are already signed up.

You can make a blog and build a large and loyal fan base. Alternatively, you can offer a very cheap incentive to make people follow you by creating tasks in sites like mylot or microworkers.
