Hi friends, I received mail from paypal. As per new rule Indians can't use their paypal earnings to buy any goods through internet. To buy we need to use our bank account credit card. Then what is the purpose of paypal account? Is it meant only for online earnings? I am so disappointed by new rules against indians. The same mails also mentions that, Indian's can't keep earnings for more than 30 days. I started to hate paypal now. What do you think? Is paypal move on indian's correct?

And I thought this issue of Indians vs paypal was over. Why is paypal really doing this? It would be unfair to those who have earned and worked online and can't buy anything he/she needs. Can't keep earnings in 30 days? That is just dreadful I mean what if you don't want to put it in your bank account yet or you forgot you got a new payment.. so does it means its just Poof away? I'm starting to hate paypal now.

Since paypal is checking legitimacy of that mail, we can still have paypal. As you said, we can't closely follow payout in paypal and withdrawal period. I hope paypal will not think to put this kind of pressure on Indians.

Hi Kannan! I haven't received any mail from PayPal informing such things. After reading your discussion I did go to official PayPal blog but couldn't find anything related to such a mail or info. If withdrawing every month is compulsory it would create a lot of problems as it is not cost effective and it takes away freedom! So it is not at all a good thing. But I haven't received any such mail and after reading other comments I think, it is not sent by PayPal or at least it is not true for now. Let us see how it turns out. Happy Mylotting!

Yes Wismay, I too check Paypal blog and getting confident that the source of the mail may not be Paypal. So I am happy with this result. Happy Mylotting...

though it doesnt seem fair to the Indians, Paypal most probably has a pretty hefty reason why they did what they did. I mean, I doubt they made that particular step without purpose.

Yes friend, I think paypal is not able to show proper documentation asked by RBI. So they limit transaction in that area.

I too received that email...I have also sent an email inquiry to paypal about the email...They responded saying that they are checking for the legitimacy of that email.... I hope the email was not from Paypal. If it is I will have to quit using paypal as I earn very little online and I can't afford paying paypal transaction fees where it is not required.

Honestly there was a product that I wanted to buy, but was deliberating, as I did not have enough, and in any event, one of my friends might have needed some monies for her education. So I waited. In the meanwhile, paypal came up with a ban on personal transactions. Last month, I withdrew the amount. That is because I had to show it in tax returns anyway. :) Lets see how things shape up in future. May be paypal will change rules again. :)

Yes. I too want paypal to act favorable to Indians. Have you received that mail? Since many Indian's have not received the mail, i doubt is it really from authorized paypal server.
