Does anyone have any tips on how to deal with teething? Are there ways of making the experience less irritating to the child, and less stressful for the parent?

When my baby turned 6-months old, he started having teeth and it's so stressful to both of us because he couldn't sleep well at night, he cries most of the time and he likes to bite anything. I bought pure honey for his daily intake - a friend told me this can help.

Do you find that it's been helpful? A dentist told me that if you rub a cold wet cloth on the baby's gums once a day every day it will make the tooth come through less painfully for the child. I just need to know some quick fixes in the meantime though, since it's painful even if you can't see any teeth coming up! :)

teething rings! Also, my son has a thing that looks like a pacifier, but you put frozen fruit in it and he can chew on it. He gets the yummy taste as well as making his gums feel better. Good luck!

Wet a clean washcloth and put it in the refrigerator, then give it to your baby to chew on. That can relieve sore gums. You can also get a mesh feeder, which has a handle and a mesh bag on it. Put some frozen chunks of fruit in it for your baby to chew on, like melon or banana. If it is really bad, or to help your baby get some sleep, try infant Tylenol. I read another response that suggested honey--- check with your pediatrician before giving your child honey. It is not recommended for children under one year of age because of the risk of botulism.

I dont have kids yet but I am planning to have a baby this year and I guess I will be expecting these things when I would be rearing a child. I cant remember how it was like for my sister when my nephews were teething but I think they were given medicine by the pediatrician to ease up the pain the baby is feeling and also that kind of medicine also made the baby sleep. I dont know if its applicable for all babies but nephews had fever that's why they also have to take some medicines.

I used special baby gels for that with cooling effect. When it hurted him much, I gave a homeopathic baby pills for several days.
