If your sibling or your parent advised you that they were going into politics, what would your thoughts be? Would you wish them well, or try to talk them out of jumping into the thicket? Would you be happy with their choice, or dismayed? Share your thoughts on the subject.

If it was my father, I know he'd do well and he wouldnt be depressed by what he finds. If it was one of my brother, Id try to talk him out of it. Politics is dirty and he would be hurt by it. My other brother would do well, he has his own company and started as a salesman, so he's good with words and can lie if need be. He'd be perfect as a politician lol.

...Hi MagicalBubbles, Based on what you have said about your father, he seems strong and reality based. Sounds like your older brother could roll with the punches, if he entered the ring. I think you really need to want to serve, because you don't get much credit, and there is only so much change you can bring if you don't have a consenus of opinion. I would not want to stay long if it were me. Do your best and then hit the trail, sounds like the way to go. Take care and thanks.

dear artistry, i never would want anyone from my family to be joining the politics now or in the future. its a very rough climate being there and also there are other ways they can serve the people even if they dont join politics. have a nice day. ann

....Hi there tigeraunt, You and I are on the same page. There are too many underhanded things that go on. Too much money being passed around and too many lies that get told, even from those who try to be honest. I say join the boy scouts as a leader or something "o). As you say there are many other things they could do to serve, rather than go into politics. Take care and thanks a lot.

I would wish them well but also be happy because then maybe due to conflict of interest i could get some of my concerns about the country i live in sorted

....Hi OConnell87, Now that is a very positive attitude to take. It seems now a days, it takes an awful lot to get anything changed. But I would think we have to keep hoping that things will change for the better. You would only hope that if one of your relatives did go into politics, they would not be disillusioned by what they learned as a result. Thanks for your input, take good care.

i really don't wanted that my family will gonna be involved in politics..because here in our country i think there is no dirty politicts here. Even if your goal is to serve people but if you are already in the position do you think you will not be able to influence by other politics? i just don't think so if this would not be gonna happen to my family..My sister is very much involve to politics and the politics here in our place is very ambitious for power.

...Hi there worldbestwriter, I think the power factor is all over in politics. Then you have the money and people trying to buy influence. It's very hard to be honest and not take money offered you to vote a certain way. Then others are doing it, so what do you do? There should be some way of taking the money and corruption that goes with it, out of politics, but I don't see a change any time soon. Thanks for your response, take it easy.

With the way most people feel about politicians (that is, they're liars, scoundrels, corrupt, etc.), I'd try and talk them out of it. Not until this current situation is rectified, would I encourage anybody to get into politics. There would also be some self-preservation motive, because I know people's families are scrutinized and what was family business becomes the whole world's business. And I prefer to keep my business out of the limelight.

...Hi there hofferp, Not for love or money would I want to go into politics. If a brother or sister wanted to serve, I would ask them why? Probably try to talk them out of it, as you, and tell them to get involved with the boy scouts or something. The skeletons in the closet is a whole other issue, Billy Carter, Roger Clinton and others, besides your own whatever, that you had forgotten about, smokimg that pot in high school, who knows? No, somebody has to do it, but not I. Thanks for your response, take it easy.
