Do You Believe This Film Holds The Truth????

I have read the book, and watched the movie, giving credit to Robin Williams he was great in this film and played the part brilliantly. My question is this... so you believe that this is what happens to us when we die? If we die do we go to a place that we want to be? As far as I am aware this film is based on a true story, Someone told me that the guy who wrote this story was made to write it by a ghost, the ghost told him exactly what to write. It's very paranormal and to be honest a bit far fetched, but the book and the film were actually really good and well worth watching. So what do you think, do you think this story was true, have you heard the same as me?
